There were bumps and blemishes but it wasn't too bad. The assembly process exposes the lack of quality in the manufacture process as peices don't exactly fit. But again, good enough.

(More customer reviews)This desk looks beautiful. The box is very heavy. We couldn't even lift it up to move to our office. We had to open the box and move each piece one by one, but that just shows you the quality off the wood. There are alot of pieces to this desk. It can be very overwhelming but if you take your time and organize it out, it's not that difficult. I'm a 5foot 110pound woman and I was able to put the desk together by myself. You will need someone to help you lift the top pieces of the desk. It has a lot of storage room and plenty of desk space. The black pieces are not totally black. They have brown streak lines to give it a rustic feel. If you don't feel like working on a project then I do not recommend this desk. The price for this desk is very reasonable.

Ameriwood Manor Oak 5-Shelf Bookcase Review

(More customer reviews)This bookcase is easy to assemble and lovely to look at. It's also very cheap and you get what you pay for. The back is made of very thick paper. As the back is nailed on, disassembly (as for moving to a new house) would be a problem. You would have to use great care to move the bookcase across the room without breaking it. I've ordered two more of them.

Multi Media Storage Shelf, Wall Unit Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased one of these units recently, along with a similar, smaller unit, after much searching and reading of reviews. It exceeded my expectations, in every way, particularly the shelves which appear to be 1/2 laminated particle board and are very sturdy even when fully loaded. This one took about an hour to build with an experienced friend, but was not challenging. Mostly I was very impressed with the quality for the price. There are not a lot of units that hold this many cds and the others I researched seemed flimsy. Not the case here, excepting the cardboard back, but even that came with a number of screws to attach it to the main frame. Allover, I was very impressed.

(More customer reviews)I bought this product not to store CDs or DVDs, but to store miniatures for the role-playing game, Dungeons and Dragons. I was unaware before purchasing the product that the shelves did not go all the way to the back of the unit; that is, there is a small gap between the shelf and the back "wall" of the unit. No big deal for CDs and DVDs, but if you are trying to use it to display knick knacks (or miniatures), it may be a LITTLE difficult. The gap is not that large; less than an inch. But enough to be noticeable to someone that is trying to put small items on the shelves. If you are going to use this for it's intended function (DVDs and CDs), I am sure it would be EXCELLENT.

The different texture of the split bamboo panels adds a classy touch. It looks well made, and it went together without mishap with the parts lining up and fitting together well. It shipped fast and was very easy to install (only took around 30 minutes) with minimal tools. I was a bit skeptical about the glass door from the pictures, but it actually works/looks really nice.

Only complaint is that after tons of spinning it (once in a blue moon) seems to get at "the end" and you have to spin the other direction--again, very rare. Prepac Black Large Locking Media (DVD,CD,Games) Storage Cabinet Review

(More customer reviews)I'm not sure why the previous reviewer had so many difficulties with scratches and the sturdiness of this cabinet - either it wasn't handled or packed right when it was shipped or it simply wasn't put together correctly because I have nothing but positive things to say about this unit.
I bought this to store my fairly large videogame collection which I had been storing in a bookshelf at least a foot taller and 6 inches wider, and my main purpose for buying it was for the locking door (I have a 2 year old who has been trashing my collection on a near daily basis - so locking this stuff up once and for all was my goal). Imagine my surprise when the collection that had been OVERFLOWING my much larger bookshelf, fit nice and neatly into this cabinet WITH AN ENTIRE DOOR OF SPACE STILL AVAILABLE!!!! WOW!
The only negative I can possibly muster up would be the slide bolt on the door that doesn't have the lock. It's in an awkward position and the screws they supply for attaching it are MUCH too short (my 9 year old manager to break it off on the first day by pulling the door too hard) - so, I went out and bought some longer screws and all is well.
I would say my only regret would be getting it in black - now that it's up and in use, I'm not OVERLY enthused about the color choice. But this is merely a personal opinion, certainly not an issue with the cabinet or it's craftsmanship. Suffice to say, I will be buying another black one soon to match this and get rid of my other bookshelf that's currently holding all of my DVDs and CDs...
