(More customer reviews)To all those who are considering buying this product: DON'T! When my order arrived, the box was made of flimsy cardboard and was falling apart. The delivery man had a hard time getting the box out of his truck, as one end of the box had come open, and boards were already sliding out. When we opened the box up, we discovered that 2 boards were seriously scratched, and 4 boards had broken completely.
Of course I refused the offer, and when the delivery man tried to get the box back onto his cart, it fell apart completely, and he had to carry the boards back to his truck a few pieces at a time.
The long and the short of it is that they don't package this product well enough to survive the shipping process. Do your pocketbook a favor, and find another entertainment center. You'll be glad you did in the long run when you get to keep it for many years, instead of tossing it out when it disintegrates.
Update: Nearly two months later, I'm still waiting for a refund for this purchase!

(More customer reviews)i bought this for my daughter's room. it was very easy to assemble (i did it myself while my husband was at work.) the box does weigh 84 lbs~fyi. while it does work in her bedroom, it would work best in a larger bedroom or a family room. her 20" tv is a little small (i put some picture frames around it to compensate.) thought the size description might be helpful, even with dimensions listed it is hard to imagine the actual size in a room. it is beautiful and i'm very glad i made this purchase!

(More customer reviews)The tv trays are NOT walnut. They are a rough oakish finish, not like they appear in the photograph - much lighter. They have lots of imperfections in the wood and really need to have a coat of finish or oil stain applied to improve their appearance. The stand came disassembled without any instructions about how to put it together and no picture about what it should look like. I had to go back to the website to see what I should do with the pieces and that is when I discovered how different the item I received looks from what I thought I had ordered. VERY disappointing!

Black Corner TV Stand Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this corner stand because I needed a cheap television stand for an old 36" tube television I keep around for Retro-Gaming. The build of the stand feels and looks super cheap, some of the pieces are held together by plastic connectors.
The stand is super easy to assemble, I had it up and finished in less than 30 minutes. Once in place with the television it actually looks pretty nice in the room, but I still worry about the build quality as the television sitting on the stand is pretty heavy and larger than the stand is intended to hold. As long as it doesn't crumble under the weight of the television sitting on top of it, I will be very happy with this purchase.

(More customer reviews)I bought this tv stand, thinking it was probably not very heavy, it was fairly cheap at the time, and I knew I'd have to assemble. But I needed something for a corner TV, DVD and cable area. It came in a really heavy box, and as an older woman, I struggled to get it into the house. I put it together, alone, in about 30 minutes. I used a Craftsman drill/driver. I put it in the corner, my plasma TV fits perfectly and its gorgeous. I think it is some veneer type wood, but I love it. Of course, I am a single older woman living alone, the heaviest thing to be on it is a cat. The doors are even, the storage area is large, and every day I realize that I love it. I moved a larger buffet type tv table into my bedroom, and this is a good replacement. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants a darker, sort of Craftsman type table. The hardest part for me was getting it into the house, and getting the box and all those pieces of styrofoam out to the trash pickup.

(More customer reviews)This is a good product as long as you understand what you're getting. It is typical of many low-end, mass produced modular furniture peices on the market. All wood pieces are "veneer" over partical board. The pieces are assembled with manufactured hardware (metal dowels and metal locking nuts that you insert into predrilled holes on each wood peice). The hardware is specifically designed for the unit so don't lose any! There are about 30 or so wood peices and at least 100 differene peices of hardware. It's best to spread it all out prior to construction.
The instructions are a small printed, so some care is needed in making sure you're working on the right peice during each step. And it it can be hard to tell which side you're supposed to be instering the hardware on some peices. No worries though, the hardware removes easy enough when you make a mistake.
Overall assembly took about an hour with the help of another adult.
The finished product looks very nice, and the shipping process resulted in only a few minor blemishes - which is really good considering we live on an island in Alaska and it came through UPS, which means it got transfered from manufacturer, to truck to jet, to float plane and then to ATV BEFORE it reached our post office... Good packaging, which definately took some abuse in shipping.
The unit is smaller than I expected but has a surprising amount of space. The corner design also fits tightly into the corner, which makes it look even smaller. Which could be a really good thing for a small house or apartment. And still it provides great storage for components. It fits our 42" Panasonic Flat screen with a few inches to spare. Has room for a PS3, a home theater receiver, DVD and VCR and the kids Wii. However, media storage is limited so you might find yourself looking for a media shelf or cabinet in which to store all your movies/games.
In summary, this is well worth the $229 we paid. (which included free super saver shipping! My best Amazon deal EVER!)

Corner Media TV Stand Grid Windowpane Doors Walnut Finish Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Narita Corner TV Stand (made by Southern Enterprises, Inc., model MS987100TX) through Amazon.com from totally Furniture on Feb 8, 2009. The stand was purchased to hold a Sony 46 Inch, Z Series LCD television, with the intent of using the inner storage space for components (Combination DVD Recorder/Player/VCR, and future Blue Ray Recorder/Player, along with media) The space is ample for those purposes. I am using little woven baskets inside the cabinet to hold the media on the shelves, which is working out well. The material of the cabinet is man-made "engineered" wood product, of extremely high quality. It looks virtually like fine wood, and is solid (not veneered) construction. It has anchors pre-installed from the factory that receive the Allen screws. The fit and finish of all pieces is excellent. The cabinet requires about 2 hours to assemble, taking your time, to get everything perfect. When completed, you cannot tell it was assembled, and looks like it was purchased in any fine furniture store. It is very strong, sturdy, very heavy. This tand would easily handle a 50 inch flat screen TV, or even larger, so far as weight goes, and the overhang would not be noticable, since it is a corner TV stand. (But could be used for a regular wall, and is finshed on the back) The design and construction of this product is remarkable, and will meet most people's expectations. One thing that I had not thought about was how the wood cross-hatch design of the doors would affect signals from the IR Remotes to the components inside, with the doors closed. This has turned out not to be a problem, and the components work fine with the doors closed. (Panasonic DVD Player/Recorder with VCR combo)
Side note. One piec was damaged when I performed assembly. (Cam-lock piece that holds the top in place on one corner) I requested a replacement from SEI thorugh their e-mail address for support on lost, missing or broken parts, but never received a reply. It was not a critical component, and doesn't show (it's only to secure the top, which is also secured by other fasteners), so I dropped the matter.
If you buy this stand, be careful not to use too much force on the Cam-lock part. It is rather soft pot-metal, and will easily bend instead of going properly into place. That was my problem.

My baby tried to crawl up on it when I had my back turned for just a second and the stand didn't budge. The front silver panels and bottom base piece are actually solid wood that is painted to match the metal top piece, side pieces and back that all support the tempered glass shelves. I was worried that this stand would be low quality because of the low price, but that is NOT the case! I'm so glad I bought this stand and would recommend it to others.

There was like 2 edges that the laminate left a visible line, fixed that with a black sharpy, but is also hidden when the door is closed (you only see solid wood with the doors shut). At this price this is the best thing you can get. I took off a star because they left out the specialty screws for the door, a quick phone call got replacements shipped out via mail, 3 days.

TechCraft Wide Flat Panel Tallboy Credenza Review

(More customer reviews)We recently re-arranged our family room and needed a corner TV stand. It had to be black to match our other tables in the room, and I wanted a wide open space under the TV to fit a sound bar. This combination proved very difficult to find, and this tech craft unit was one of the few to meet all our needs. I would have preferred to get a solid wood stand, but the only ones I could find fitting our needs were over $1000 from BDI and Salamander. So we decided to give this one a try.
The stand arrived quickly, delivered to our door. It was very well packed with no damage to speak of. Unfortunately, it required full assembly. The only things pre-assembled were the glass doors and the sides. I'm a pretty handy guy, but it still took about 2 hours of methodical assembly to complete. But, once finished, we were very happy with the results. The important pieces are made of solid wood - the entire top, the sides, the door frames and a piece on the bottom. The rest is made from engineering wood (particle board) with a black veneer finish. The finish if very smooth, more of a low gloss smooth lacquer finish, with no wood grain visible. The unit is very solid and heavy when assembled. We have a 46" plasma on top and it fits perfectly. I was concerned when ordering that it may be too tall. I usually prefer low consoles, but once assembled with the TV on top, it looks great and the height is actually very nice.
The doors open smoothly and have fully adjustable hinges. There are two adjustable shelves in the center section and one per side behind the doors. The back panel has large slits for cord pass through and cooling. The large open section below the TV will be perfect when we add the sound bar. Overall I am very impressed with this stand. The quality seems excellent for this price point, and the finish looks durable.
If you are looking for a corner stand that can accommodate your sound bar or wide center channel speaker, this is a great pick as long as you don't mind assembly and don't require a solid wood piece.
