(More customer reviews)I just assembled the entertainment center 2 nights ago and so far so good.
Here are, in my opinion, the pros and cons of this unit:
Pros:
1. Instructions were easy enough to follow: The unit came with a 25 page instruction manual (mostly pictures with a few words). All of the hardware, screws, wood pieces, etc were given different letter labels in the manual to make following the directions easier.
2. All you need to put it together is a hammer (only at the end to nail the back cover on), a standard philips screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver.
3. The TV opening is large enough to hold my 42" widescreen TV...with 6" of width to spare. It's extremely hard to find an enclosed entertainment center, for larger TVs, at such a reasonable price.
4. The cabinets and drawer are great for hiding DVDs, VHS, CDs, videogames, etc.
5. The top of the unit can serve as a faux mantel piece for picture frames, etc.
6.It's very sturdy once put together and looks like it's worth much more than the $159 I paid for it.
7. There are cutouts at the back of the unit to manage cord flow, and for easy hookup access into the TV, etc.
8. The affordable price!
Cons:
1. Unit is very heavy. Assembly can be done by one person (you assemble while laying the unit on it's back) but once you're ready to lift it and stand it upright you definitely need at least two people.
2. B/c I assembled mostly by myself, it took close to 3 hours to put everything together b/c there are close to 200 screws and 60 nails to put in, and multiple pieces of wood to put together.
3. I'm not a big fan of the striations in the wood. They are more prominent in person than what you see advertised.
That's really it for cons, so not bad at all. The additional information I would give is:
1. Unit cannot hold a tv that weighs more than 240lbs.
2. Be very careful to follow directions closely while assembling, as one small mistake could make you have to start all over again.
3. Be sure to line up the pieces as close to perfect as possible, b/c one offset can mess up pieces that follow.
4. Finally, enjoy the entertainment center! After the hard work, it was worth it b/c it is truly a great addition to our living room.

(More customer reviews)Quality item. Assembly is a breeze and comes with the only tools you will need (an allen wrench and plastic screwdriver). A little disappointed in the cable managment system. It seems they could offer a choice in putting it in the left side instead of the right side, but really would be nice if it were in both sides and even in the horrizontal support tubes.

(More customer reviews)I usually do not buy furniture (online) without having seen it first. This was a hit, even with my wife, from the moment we unpacked the box. Very cool looking (Aluminum and glass), easy to assemble and works really well as an entertainment center. The product was packaged well for shipping (no scratches on the glass or the Aluminum posts). The shipping box is a little heavy so it needs a two person carry. Those who like a minimalistic look in their furniture would love this product!

It uses wooden pegs to hold each piece, which dont fit into the proper holes and needed to be hammered in, with force. The product was also a lot smaller than I had imagined. This is one of those situations where you get what you pay for. I would suggest purchasing a different item.

(More customer reviews)Unit is well made, and looks like a fine piece of furniture. It has lots of nice features and fits my center speaker. Problem is getting one undamaged. This unit is very heavy, and the freight company did not take proper care, as evidenced by the condition of the box, and the fact that they stood the box on end, even though the box says not to do that. Inside the truck, there was a large screen TV wedged against the unit at an angle -- going right through the box. First delivery was severely damaged, and quickly replaced by Amazon. Second unit was in better shape, but not perfect -- needs some touch-up. If you do get this unit, get it from Amazon, as they will treat you well if you get a damaged one, as the exchange was as good as one could expect. Of course, there is the matter of unpacking, and repacking -- not trivial with something this big. Best unit in it's class based upon my research.

The price that was offered at $349.99 but I found it at competitors for $190. So I emailed the company and much to my amazement they gave it to me for $185. Just like their policy was stated. Then the stand arrived damaged and again they stood by thier policy. They sent me out a replacement part. During this whole process the company was in constant contact with me. BDI Marina 8729-2, Triple Wide Enclosed Cabinet ( Gloss White) Review

(More customer reviews)There is a big difference between TV stands and TV furniture, this is the latter.
Be advised this unit is BIG and HEAVY, even with the hidden wheels its tough to move fully loaded on carpet (as expected). Ventilation is good, not great, gear still gets hot. IR not affected by the glass.
All my gear fits inside with room to spare, Xbox 360, PS3, AVR (had amp and pre-pro in before, Wii, center channel, network hub and NAS, could easily fit a cable box + something else inside. Good wire management.
Doors will need adjustment upon arrival as noted in the manual, not difficult at all.
Fingerprint magnet! Gloss white probably not so much.
I'll assume this is just MDF with really nice glass and finish, which is too bad (unless it holds up) given the pricetag...but it was the only one that I liked the look of. I'm certain you could find something cheaper but equally nice.

Bell'O AVS-2763HG Audio/Video System (Gloss Black) Review

(More customer reviews)It looks just as good assembled as in the listing pictures. The video stand was relatively easy to assemble and the directions are easy to follow.
We used this stand with a Samsung 55" LCD and the proportions and stability are just right.
Delivery was not a problem, however you do want to have it placed where you plan to do the assembly. The instructions on the box exterior caution it takes two people to move the container and it does. We didn't notice that until the delivery person was gone. I had to open the box and more each glass shelf individually.

Sauder Entertainment Credenza (Carolina Oak) (24.882"H x 45.748"W x 21.22"D) Review

(More customer reviews)The reason we had chosen this particular unit was due to the color as shown in the picture for it would have been a perfect match for the furniture we already have. Once recieved, the color was a very dark brown that is not even close to what is shown in the advertisement. The unit appears sturdy and all, but unfortanately, we cleared away the old unit having everything sitting on the floor awaiting the arrival of this one and can not ship it back and search for another one, Plus it weighs 118 lbs and would be expensive to ship back (I assume). I highly reccomend not relying on the pictures shown and calling the seller to confirm the color before purchasing...the picture on the box matches the picture shown here and is quite decieving. Very disapointed, and will now have to stare at unmatching furniture once again :(

(More customer reviews)Didn't know what to think when the delivery truck delivered a flat box on a pallet. Was expecting a fully assembled cabinet. Assembly went fast after laying out all the pieces. Most were shelves. Well designed. The front and back were already put together. Installed 2 end pieces at the base, put the top on and slid in the shelves. 30 minutes start to finish. The open area behind the faux drawers is a great place for equipment that needs no remote. Added a support under a shelf because I had it overloaded. Cabinet is sealed tight. Equipment inside gets hot so I added a small fan for ventillation. Cabinet is beautiful, and very solid. I love it. Thanks much!

(More customer reviews)i bought this for my daughter's room. it was very easy to assemble (i did it myself while my husband was at work.) the box does weigh 84 lbs~fyi. while it does work in her bedroom, it would work best in a larger bedroom or a family room. her 20" tv is a little small (i put some picture frames around it to compensate.) thought the size description might be helpful, even with dimensions listed it is hard to imagine the actual size in a room. it is beautiful and i'm very glad i made this purchase!

Bell'O WAVS-327 Espresso Finish Audio Video Cabinet Review

(More customer reviews)The Good: When properly put together, it'd be difficult to tell by sight that it isn't a $2000 piece of handcrafted cabinetry. It looks simply fantastic, and the tabletop has a nice solid feel to it unlike the PCB of the remainder of the construction. Granted it's really nice particle board, but it's still veneered PCB.
The Bad: The storage compartment shelves are glass, which seems an odd choice considering the center shelving is wood. I would have preferred something more solid in there, especially once my toddler finds out that the doors open.
The Ugly: The veneer is very delicate. My left door came horribly scratched and peeled due to rough handling (either in transit or in the warehouse) and the foot of one entire rear corner had come off entirely. In the three days I've owned it, my son has put some deep gashes in the side with a foam&plastic toy car. Make sure you keep some wood glue and a brown marker handy (the marker they supplied me with was bone dry and wouldn't color in the white scratches).

(More customer reviews)I was a bit intimidated after reading that some have taken up to 8 hours to put this thing together but I was looking for something quality. With the (sometimes) help of my kids I was able to build this in under two hours and it is top notch. While it is pretty heavy (and that's a good thing) it was still manageable. It also comes with sliders built-in to the feet so it reduces your work arranging it once you get it built. My 65 inch TV looks great on it and I highly recommend this to anyone with a larger TV. I think anything under 50 inches may get dwarfed by it's precense as it has a very solid look and feel to it by itself.
One word of cautiuon: you may want to lay out cardboard, a rug, or a sheet to build it on so you don't scratch the finish.

Cambridge TV Stand - Cherry Finish Review

Arrived in good condition. Small split topside veneer + big scratch on 1 plexiglass window.
Assembly was easy for 1 person - took under 2 hours to complete. Looks good with 58" flatscreen, and my center channel fits (barely) in the center shelf (the key reason for purchasing this model).
Design probs: Once you install doors there is no way to remove them to install an electronics component with the standard 18" width. The door hinge pins should have been designed for easy removal. Instead I had to unbolt the top panel of the unit to remove the doors (and first move the 100lb unwieldy tv). A huge p.i.t.a. for what should be simple door removal.
Secondly, the doors are constructed so that there is no manner to remove the windows without breaking/damaging the door itself. The windows should be removable for ease of cleaning - for easy replacement (with plexiglass, glass, frosted glass, colored glass, speaker mesh, etcetcetc).
I'd like to meet the morons who designed the doors and kick them directly in the genitals for being absolutely incompetent.
Otherwise, the unit is looks nice. Its sturdy and holds a fair amount of stuff (remember to load everything & wire it all before installing the doors).

72" Contemporary TV Console Review

(More customer reviews)I've done quite a bit of searching and have finally found a piece of home theater furniture that was made with electronic components in mind. So much of what is out there doesn't give adequate space for components. This gives the perfect amount of room. Nice cable management throughout. Removable backs for convenience, can be left off for additional ventilation. No sacrifice of aesthetics or build quality either. This is FURNITURE, not a build-it-yourself particle board monster. IR remotes work through the glass. Large center channel speaker doesn't have to sit on top. Furnitech thought of everything. Finally, this is it!
