(More customer reviews)I have just purchased these attractive bamboo tables as a gift. Unfortunately, I found them to be VERY poorly made. The materials are quite cheap and the workmanship is terrible. Screws fall out when they are folded up and the wood pieces that are supposed to be glued together fall apart when handled. The vendor Home Imports Direct has so far declined to refund my money on this item, saying that the return falls under the heading of "Buyers Remorse." They will not allow a return on an item that is unpacked and "used." We didn't know, while the items were still in the box, that the quality would be so poor. If you want tv trays, go for the metal retro-type...the type we had back in the 60's. Those lasted for years and rarely broke.

(More customer reviews)I had my tablemates for 3 months now and it's still in one piece. The table is very flexible and you can adjust it to 3 different heights and 3 tilt positions. The table top is durable plastic and the legs are aluminum. The table is easy to assemble out of the box and requires no tools.
----The Negatives: The height is not easily adjusted. The legs use locking pins that must be adjusted independently. The home site has a 2 for 1 but charges Shipping and handling equal to the table price. The time for delivery can be as long as 60 days. I strongly recommend ordering them from a well know store like Amazon. This is perfect as a bed tray like ones in hospitals.

(More customer reviews)I've had this set of TV tables for over 2 years. I originally bought them from K-Mart or Target. I've used them for everything from eating to working on my laptop to speaker stands (in a pinch).
They're easy to move around because when they fold up they can be placed (two to a side) on the carrier. The carrier has a handle at the top. Although it makes a heavy package, all you need to do is put shipping tape (or rope) around the tables and the handle and you can move these without breaking them.
The wood is gorgeous. Natural with no stain. They're also very sturdy.

(More customer reviews)I was appalled at both the poor condition and the poor design of this product. The stand and all 4 of the tables were scratched and nicked, showing the bright wood underneath. Everything was covered with a thick layer of dust. Some of the drill holes were slightly off, making assembly more difficult than it should have been. In addition, the screws all had Allen heads, requiring use of the enclosed Allen wrench, instead of being able to substitute a power screwdriver or drill with screwdriver bit. All in all, when one considers the exorbitant delivery cost (nearly as much as the item), I would have been MUCH better off going to a store to get something better (and probably overall cheaper).

(More customer reviews)Exactly what I was looking for, at the time, a low volume purchase, versus having to buy greater than a certain amount, which might have been more than your average consumer could use for a single family. Just like the ones I'd had years before and liked so well. Good quality that should give me years of service and the price was right. I was glad to find them on Amazon, as I was having problems finding them elsewhere. I had almost given up looking for trays that have a raised edge all around which, from personal experience, makes it nice in case the items being cared decide to slide around. Just that little bit of extra security gives a person more piece of mind. Most other, more expensive, trays don't come with that feature. They do have a slick top surface, which tends to allow movement, so the edge helps. I would like to see trays with at least some degree of a non-skid top surface preparation, but it seems, by mine findings, that they are unavailable. I would say these are the next best thing. One last thing, it might have been nice if a matching storage rack, of some kind, were offered for them,(at additional cost), for the majority of the times when the trays are not in use.

(More customer reviews)I purchased these because they have a raised edge or lip which is something I have been looking for in a snack table for at least 5 years and have not been able to find. I ordered 2 sets. 1 set arrived in very good condition. The other in poor condition. On one table, the moulding (edging) on one side was pulled away from the table surface. The other table surface has a small scratch in one corner. I am pretty sure the moulding just needs some wood glue, but it makes me wonder about the overall quality. I love the fact that they are braced on the under side of the table surface, yet they are not too heavy to easily move about. I will probably keep both sets as the shipping process was took a good 3 weeks and as I mentioned I have not been able to find anything similar anywhere else.

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a wooden folding TV tray with a raised lip for several years now. Although I bought this item sight unseen, I did research it on the manufacturer's site and thought it looked fairly well built. Unfortunately, while the legs and edges of the TV tray are made of bamboo, the tray itself is made of plastic laminate. This was not indicated on either website. The most disappointing problem is that the tray wiggles from side to side with the slightest touch. Definitely not good for serving beverages with kids or pets around. The legs are made so they can not be tightened. Too bad, since it is a lot better looking then the old fashioned metal trays that rust so easily.
1/13/11 Well I had the tray for several months now. It totally collapsed on me. The bar that holds the legs to the tray came off. My handy husband sanded the ends of the bar and re-glued it back together. Now its much sturdier than it used to be. Still too expensive for what you get... don't buy it.

Conveniently, there was a printout with instructions on how to request missing parts. Go figure. We thought the heavy wood trays would be sturdy... Nope. They were more wobbly than our cheap old timey ones. Between the missing piece and the wobbliness we decided they were defective enough that we wanted our money back. Amazon themselves were absolutely awesome with issuing a return label & number and refunding our money rapidly. No harm done.

Cape Craftsman TV Tray Set with Stand, Set of 4 Review

(More customer reviews)I am 100% disappointed. I bought these exact tv trays at a store in my local mall. The store has super cute, trendy pieces & I wrongly assumed that their high prices meant high quality. Anyway, heres the basis for my 1 star review. First I'll say the one star, which is also required, is for the overall look. I can honestly say I've never seen a better looking set of tv trays. Other than the actual appearance this set is a total piece of junk. The instructions to put together the stand were incomplete. Instead of there being 12 identical screws like the directions implied, there were 4 long screws & 8 slightly shorter screws. I didn't notice this until I was almost done putting it together so I had to take the whole thing apart & start over. Although annoying it was not a big deal & was easily fixable. The next problem I encountered was each tray was shrink wrapped. This seemed like a good thing until I tried to remove the plastic. Whoever manufactured these wrapped the trays first & then attached the legs with screws. This made removing the plastic almost impossible. I couldn't tip off the plastic because it wouldn't tear evenly. I ended up having to use a knife to cut the plastic so there wouldn't be stray pieces hanging. This resulted in obvious cut marks in the dark wood. This was also annoying but I knew it was underneath so it wouldn't show. Here comes the deal breaker... This morning when used for the first time the screws ripped. The whole left half of the tray became unattached while my husband was trying to fold down the tray to put it back on the stand. Needless to say, this whole set is going back this afternoon.
