(More customer reviews)First, Amazon was very helpful and I finally received the correct pieces, no charge extra. But it was a long process because the manufacturer (or shipping warehouse) sent a number of wrong parts, including a damaged console. Everything works perfectly. The wood has a somewhat coarse texture and the finish is low gloss. It is heavy! I chose not to use the glass shelves on the back panel so don't know about them. But now that it is up I am extremely happy with it. Cupboards and doors are well fitted. hardware is matte finish silver metal, but neither chrome nor stainless. I have had it for a while and still love the looks--not a delicate finish but a solid piece for the money.
