Although it's fairly sturdy, I added small corner brackets I found at a local hardware store to discreetly anchor each of the vertical shelf supports directly to the wall where they will be hidden by DVDs once loaded up. Assembly was not too hard, except for trying to nail on the 3-piece cardboard backing, which was tricky because of the thin areas involved and the tendency of the cardboard to move as you worked on it. I think there could be some improvement in that part of their design. I got the cherry finish, which looks great. Note that you cannot fill the entire unit with only DVDs - you will have at least one line of shelves that will only hold CDs, as that shelf will be too short for DVDs, but the unit does hold what they claim (even a few more). The manufacturer, Prepac, always ships units direct from the factory, so it really doesn't matter who you order it from, just go for the lowest price. Warning: the box is extremely big & heavy and it helps to have 2 people to carry it. But it was packed well to prevent shipping damage. Shipment arrived less than a week after I ordered it. I did not see anything this nice in local stores, so online shopping wins out here.
