(More customer reviews)Avoid avoid avoid. No way on earth is this TV stand worth three hundred dollars plus the cost of shipping (another sixty four). Not only did the unit arrive with plenty of tears and holes in the packaging, but a majority of the pieces sustained damage either from shipping or at the factory. This unit is made in China, made of composite wood, and NOT a quality piece.
Positives: Easy to put together - took me longer to unpack everything then it did to piece together. The color is actually pretty nice.
Negatives: Made of composites - no hard/real woods anywhere I could see. I had damage on the front, top, shelves, and bottom of the unit. But good luck returning an item this large, so I just decided to make do with it until I can find/afford a better "real wood" replacement.
I was able to get the thing together and "hide" most of the chips and dings with my components. Top had a large impact mark near the rear center - covered with the TV stand. Front had a few nicks and chips - colored in with a brown marker. Right side had a chip - covered when the door is closed. Bottom had two of the screwed-in anchors broken nearly off. I was able to pull out the screws and then reinsert them and screw them back down. We'll see how it holds up as the bottom and front/rear panels use these achors to attach together. There were six anchors so I guess "only" a third of them were broken. A few scratches and nicks on the shelves which are covered with my electronic components. All in all - JUNK with a capital J U N K.
Something odd - this unit has a TON of static charge to it. I have vacuumed it, rubbed it down with a damp cloth, tried rubbing it with a Bounce dryer sheet, and used Pledge dusting spray. Dust and packing foam just suck right up to it. Hopefully this will go away in time.
Long story short - skip this one and try something else. I believe this piece was actually sold from Target - I found the item on their site after I had ordered it and saw several negative reviews...too little too late.
