(More customer reviews)The bottom portion of the rods for these stands is threaded so they can be affixed to the base with a nut, washers and included wrench. Unfortunately the threaded part is not nearly long enough and firmly tightening the nut to secure the base and stand is impossible. Also the screw used to hold the stand in place after setting the desired height came so overtightened I couldn't loosen it and gave up to avoid stripping it. I have assembled many items before including other speaker stands and an entire home gym, and this marks the first time I ever had to return such an item. Do not buy.
