(More customer reviews)I had seen this bookcase assembled & on display at Target. Knocked on the piece to see if it was hard wood as it appeared. It is!!! It is so hard to find real wood furniture these days, even in the furniture stores. Many places have cut costs by using particle board & other unidentifiable materials. I put the bookcase together on my own. It is easy to assemble & is sturdy. Even the backboard is better than average. No cardboard back. The parts were packed safely with foam, etc. No damage to any of the pieces. I expect to get many years of use from this. I am very happy with my purchase. I am actually tempted to buy another one.

(More customer reviews)I installed this center speaker mount above the tv but it can also be installed below. It was very easy to install. The hardware is all included the the instructions are pretty easy to follow on this product. I also ordered the side speaker mounts which I found the instructions to be a bit more straight forward but there really isn't that much to it so you should be able to figure it out quite well with what they include. The instructions include pictures which is extremly helpful! I would recomend the center speaker mount as well as the side speaker mount!

Entertainment Center Set in Black - Bradford Place - Inspirations by Broyhill - 433-SET Review

(More customer reviews)Where do I begin? First of all, the company we purchased this from was outstanding. However, the product is very disappointing. We purchased all three pieces to this unit. The first piece we decided to put together was the TV stand. First of all, we received the wrong assembly instructions. It was for a "Mates Bed" instead of for a TV stand. Fortunately, I called Broyhill customer service and they were able to email me the correct assembly instructions. The next problem we ran into was a screw was missing. We weren't able to purchase one at the local hardware store as it is a specialty screw. We spoke with the hardware employee and he told us since there were 8 other of the same screws, we would be safe to leave it off. So, we took his advice. The next problem we had was the divider for the shelves was off-centered, so it was very difficult to get the shelves inside the stand. My husband literally had to push up against the divider with his foot and slide the shelves into the unit. A major issue we had was the unit comes with two sliding doors. We received one of the doors damaged. The wood was completely split on both sides and the glass is scratched up. The last issue we have had was there's a gap in the edging of the unit. My husband tried his hardest to fix it, but there is nothing he can do about it. It's very disappointing to not have a product that is put together decently. The only thing I can say is, I have called Broyhill about the missings pieces and the damaged sliding door. They are sending me a new one. I haven't received one yet, but I am hopeful they will make this problem right! We have yet to put the two wall units together and are hoping we don't have any problems with them or missing parts. All in all, the quality is okay, pretty disappointing. But, we really do like they way it looks. I do have buyer's remorse. I am hoping once it's all together, I will feel differently.

(More customer reviews)This is a handy tool for cultivating small areas, but it is not appropriate for anything more than a medium sized flowerbed. The handles work well to gain leverage, but you will feel it in your muscles if you attempt to do too large an area!
The fact that it isn't powered lets you get into areas you wouldn't want to go with even the smallest of tillers, and it does a great job of breaking up the ground to a depth of a couple of inches, which is perfect for flowers.
For larger projects, use a mini-tiller, and use this tool for the detail work and the smaller beds. Both tools are a good combination to have at your disposal.

If what I paid for was just doors it was a rip off, they were not worth $85, especially when I was able to find a bookshelf that was much better for the same price. I was very disappointed in what I got. I am rethinking ever using Amazon.com again to make a purchase.

Entertainment Center Set in Ebony - Bedford - 5531-ESET Review

(More customer reviews)Don't be fooled by the description of "solid wood and wood veneers" ... the only solid (real) wood in this whole set is the front frame of the TV stand (which came cracked at multiple joints in my set). Everything else, including the moulding and other trim, is medium-density fiberboard ("MDF", not to be confused with lower quality/less rigid particle board) and I'm not sure what the veneers are -- they don't look or feel like real wood either. There is no wood grain appearance like the other black furniture I have bought, some of which was also made by Home Styles.
That said, the quality of materials and finish is pretty good, and MDF is probably going to be a lot more durable than real wood anyway. The unit looks really nice when it's all assembled. It strikes a perfect balance between high-tech and traditional, and has gotten favorable comments from everyone who has seen it in our family room. We were specifically looking for something under 5.5' tall to fit under our accent windows.
There are 4 parts that make up this entertainment center. The TV stand and 2 piers require full assembly, and use a cam-lock construction system that worked okay most of the time, but in several cases the pins and cams did not align properly and had to be adjusted and/or forced (which at one point resulted in a bad head gash when I was trying to align a pin with a hole and the piece slipped). The cabinet doors also did not align well. It ended up taking me most of a day to put everything together with the challenges that came up during assembly.
I'm giving this 4 stars because, as mentioned, it does look nice and seems reasonably well constructed, and it fits our needs perfectly. Maybe I'm being too generous or not objective enough. Of the five Home Styles pieces I bought (these 4 pieces plus an end table) four of the sets had damaged parts. It may have been shipping-related (these extremely heavy boxes surely don't get handled with kid gloves) but there was no external evidence of shipping damage and the damaged parts were packaged in between other parts that were fine. The manufacturer agreed to send out all the damaged parts to me, but 10 days later they're not here yet.

Sauder Orchard Hills Entertainment Center Review

(More customer reviews)I just assembled the entertainment center 2 nights ago and so far so good.
Here are, in my opinion, the pros and cons of this unit:
Pros:
1. Instructions were easy enough to follow: The unit came with a 25 page instruction manual (mostly pictures with a few words). All of the hardware, screws, wood pieces, etc were given different letter labels in the manual to make following the directions easier.
2. All you need to put it together is a hammer (only at the end to nail the back cover on), a standard philips screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver.
3. The TV opening is large enough to hold my 42" widescreen TV...with 6" of width to spare. It's extremely hard to find an enclosed entertainment center, for larger TVs, at such a reasonable price.
4. The cabinets and drawer are great for hiding DVDs, VHS, CDs, videogames, etc.
5. The top of the unit can serve as a faux mantel piece for picture frames, etc.
6.It's very sturdy once put together and looks like it's worth much more than the $159 I paid for it.
7. There are cutouts at the back of the unit to manage cord flow, and for easy hookup access into the TV, etc.
8. The affordable price!
Cons:
1. Unit is very heavy. Assembly can be done by one person (you assemble while laying the unit on it's back) but once you're ready to lift it and stand it upright you definitely need at least two people.
2. B/c I assembled mostly by myself, it took close to 3 hours to put everything together b/c there are close to 200 screws and 60 nails to put in, and multiple pieces of wood to put together.
3. I'm not a big fan of the striations in the wood. They are more prominent in person than what you see advertised.
That's really it for cons, so not bad at all. The additional information I would give is:
1. Unit cannot hold a tv that weighs more than 240lbs.
2. Be very careful to follow directions closely while assembling, as one small mistake could make you have to start all over again.
3. Be sure to line up the pieces as close to perfect as possible, b/c one offset can mess up pieces that follow.
4. Finally, enjoy the entertainment center! After the hard work, it was worth it b/c it is truly a great addition to our living room.

(More customer reviews)This cabinet has lots of storage but the whey that the door storage units is set up is shoddy at best as well as the shelving the unit as a whole is well built. It is almost as if the interior was an afterthought. The shelves sage under the weight of a normal load of dvd's the door storage is glued together and I have had two come unglued when using the supplied glue. The only parts that are built well are the exterior and the top drawers.

The entertainment cabinet really is 39" deep, when most are 20-24" (the depth is shown in the listing but I thought it was a typo). The interior audio component area, at only 17.5" wide, is too narrow for our components. Unless I attempt to modify the dimensions, I won't be making this cabinet.

Orchard Hills Dresser Review

It took my boyfriend TWO DAYS to put this together and the materials for the dresser are quite shoddy. Two separate pieces chipped while he was putting this together, which required a trip to the store to buy wood glue. And once it was all together, the top right drawer does NOT slide easily - it sticks- probably because the whole thing is NOT well made and the lines are off slightly, causing issues with the drawers. After spending over $200 on this, I am very disappointed.

4D Concepts Girl's Storage Bookcase, White Review

(More customer reviews)Just looking at the bookcase in the stock picture, you can't help but love it. Pink and purple drawers with white shelves is a nice look, and it looks like it can hold quite a bit for the size. I made sure to read over the product details, something that's uncommon around here on Amazon, before I ordered it, but once I got to check this thing out after assembly, I ended up being a bit disappointed with what I got for my money. When the back of this thing cracks right down the middle during assembly, you start to wonder why the manufacturer didn't include a few replacement pieces.
Regarding the storage capabilities of this bookcase, the drawers are the best thing about it, even if they're made of canvas and cardboard. The three little ones hold all my daughter's socks, tights and other smaller clothes perfectly, and like the product details suggest, this would hold games, controllers and handhelds like the DS well too. The two big ones below are roomy and great for pants and pajamas, though they could hold a bunch of figures, dolls and smaller stuffed animals like mini plush Pokemon. It's up to you or your child. I really do like the color on these drawers, as the pink and purple look just like they do in the stock picture, not brighter or darker, and the handles are sturdy for what they are. You can remove the drawers if you want too- they're not fastened in the bookcase with bolts or anything. Also, the bookcase unit is fairly sturdy when you put it together. It doesn't wobble around when you bump into it, and it can hold a smaller tv on top without any worries of collapsing. You can put this thing together in less than 40 minutes.
As for the bookcase itself, it's one of the two big negatives about the product. If you need to know what size books will fit on it, and what won't, look no further than your standard Dr. Seuss book. If you want to put these in the bookcase standing up, they won't fit. Yes, the shelves are too short even for those nice-sized books. Little Golden books stand a chance, as to anything smaller than that, but things like the hardcover Eric Carle books and nearly anything by Maurice Sendak will have to be laid down. It'd be nice if the makers would've made these shelves a little taller since most people have books standing up. The other big problem is what I mentioned earlier- the backing. There is -NO- reason why it should be such a flimsy material. I'd send it back if it meant getting a different back to the bookcase and not another identical one.
Still, my daughter loves it, and I expect she'll be lining up all her animal, Gremlins, Pokemon and Ghostbusters toys on the book shelves if we go with something else for books. You could do a lot worse at this price, but you could also do a lot better for slightly more. I'll probably get something else in 2 years or so.
