I needed something with doors to keep my 1-year-old away from the dvd player. Unfortunately, the magnets that secure the glass doors are so weak that they usually just bounce right off. That being said, the tv stand is attractive and functional for those who aren't trying to childproof their homes. It just wasn't sturdy enough for my needs.

(More customer reviews)DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK. I received one, and the box was THRASHED (holes, rips, etc.). The finish is so fragile, that just the friction of the cardboard box it comes in was enough to permanently scuff off the finish from top to bottom of every weight-bearing edge of every piece.
I figured it was damaged in shipping, so I had Amazon send a replacement. SAME THING! Box arrived THRASHED (ripped, holes, etc.). I looked inside at the pieces and ALL OF THEM WERE SCUFFED TOP TO BOTTOM **AGAIN**. For my own curiosity, I decided to use a sponge on the scuffs and see if they came off. You know what came off? THE FINISH!!! LOL! Don't buy this thing. Seriously, it is a major piece of crap. I'm glad that Amazon only had thrashed boxes in stock, otherwise I might not have seen how fragile the finish was until it was too late. Oh well, about to send this back and try another manufacturer.

(More customer reviews)I just set this piece up and I really like the look of it. It holds 6 controllers and 12 games. It has a sleek look to it and it is pretty sturdy. I did have a few complaints about it though. The instructions were very detailed and easy to follow but the actual set up of the product disappointed me. I found I was having to bend the metal bars in order to fit it to the screw slots and on one shelf I wasn't able to fit one of the screws into the slot because the alignment of the metal bar and the shelf were about half an inch off. I decided to just overlook it because I was able to fit the other 3 screws just fine. The controller holders just sit on a metal bar. I understand that they are free moving to accommodate different controller sizes, but I wish there was some way to fix them to one specific spot. Other than those few things I didn't like, I am happy with my purchase. I would recommended this to other people.

Sonax BL-6600 Real Wood Uprights TV Bench for 48" - 68" Flat Panel TV's. Review

(More customer reviews)This entertainment center came out very nice looking, even better than what the pictures led me to expect. It was also delivered fairly quickly. One issue I had was that the package of screws broke open in transit, and the hardware managed to get scattered throughout the big box. The screws did cause a few scratches in the finish--but fortunately nothing too visible--and I had to conduct a search through all the packing material to find every last screw and anchor I needed to complete assembly. Many vendors now provide a few spares in the screw package, which I think would be cheap insurance against unhappy customers, especially since this is not common hardware store stuff. The other issue is a typical one for this type of furniture, and that is the closed back inhibiting airflow to the electronics. This is usually a problem with this type of furniture if you're not getting an open shelf system, and I plan to modify mine to improve that situation. All in all, I'm very happy with the purchase, it really is very elegant looking.

(More customer reviews)This audio stand looks exactly like the photo. The dimensions under "see more technical details" are incorrect. This stand measures 24 inches across, 20 inches deep and 40 inches high. It is made primarily of solid wood with wood veneers and thus it is quite heavy. However, as a result, the stand looks and feels much better than the cheap particle board furniture you can buy at the discount store. The only things that feel cheap are the 2 adjustable shelves which are made of compressed board with plastic veneers. I found the assembly to be relatively easy to do by myself and it took me about an hour. The box is very well packed and the contents, including the bottom glass door, came all the way to Hawaii undamaged, even though there was a big ding on one of the sides of the box. In my opinion, this is a very good value at $185, and I highly recommend this audio stand to anyone looking for a dark wood audio cabinet of this size.

It looks sharp, even with a 5" monitor shelf that I added on top to make it the right height for my t.v. in a bedroom. The two things together are just what I needed and look fine. I llke that you can remove the cardboard circle behind the glass doors to run cords into the shelving area from the back. The doors closed fine, once I found the missing magnet that had fallen off of one into the shipping box.

(More customer reviews)The Tech Craft BAY4828B - 48" Wide A/V Entertainment Center (black) was a perfect choice to support a black 42" LCD TV in the corner of our 24' x 16' family room. Its rich appearance and quality of construction make it a good deal for the price. Also, it's a rarity to have the option of both open and closed shelves in a TV stand. We keep a cable TV DVR and a DVD player on the convenient open shelf and Wii accessories and DVDs on the two shelves protected by the glass doors. (Our Wii sits hidden behind the TV on one side of the stand, which makes it convenient to charge and grab the controllers.)
Note that this stand affords a somewhat higher position than most for your TV, which is especially great for the Wii (It may also be advantageous for folks with toddlers and dogs, in lessening their access to the TV screen.). Its solid stance and ample depth reassures that flatscreen TVs will rest stably.
Assembly was straightforward for one person with a few simple tools. Some of the pieces are heavy, which is a testament to its quality. There was one minor flaw -- a top rear corner was bent slightly upward. Overall, we cannot be happier with our purchase.

(More customer reviews)We received this unit a few days ago, and my husband put it together last night. He is experienced at assembling items like this. It was a lot of work, but everything was in good condition, every piece needed was there, and the instructions were very good. He's a bit sore today! But very, very pleased with the unit.
We needed the TV up high so that it would be above our handsome dog walking around the livingroom. We needed it to fit a corner. And we needed space for speakers, DVR, DVD and a few other things. Everything fit with room to spare.
The unit was well packed. One great surprise is that our remote controls work better now. The pieces are arranged so that nothing blocks anything else, and we were not able to arrange them NEARLY as well before receiving this unit.
A TV stand is a great idea! If this one fits your situation and you have someone who can put it together, it is terrific!

SEI Essex Espresso Media Stand with Sliding Glass-Paneled Doors Review

(More customer reviews)This stand arrived yesterday, one or two days earlier than expected and just in time to put it together before the new LCD TV arrived. I've been assembling furniture, from book cases to office desks, since my college days, many decades ago. This unit is simply the easiest to assemble of any of them including the units from Denmark and Sweden. No special connectors, just dowels and screws. All holes are pre-drilled and the dowel holes are just the right size with no hammering needed. Even the large back panel uses small screws rather than the tiny nails or brads that are usually used. The whole thing went together using just a Phillips screwdriver, and from unpacking through assembling to hauling out the empty box took 45 minutes tops. The finish is excellent and the color is prefect for our living room.

(More customer reviews)Since I have a small living space, I wanted something to hold my 50" tv & components without being too big and boxy. This stand was perfect for me since I like the look of (ply)wood, it has a reddish hue that fits with my other furniture, the glass makes things look more "open" and I liked the "waterfall" look, too.
Technically, this is very easy to put together & I managed to do it by myself (though it's suggested that 2 people work on it & I was very careful when lifting the glass). The only part that didn't fit easily is the back because there are no holes for the screws. Because the material isn't wood, it tended to slip so 2 people would be better for holding it in place & screwing the stand to the back piece. Also, I disliked the instructions, which were only visual, because I would prefer details & I couldn't tell which screw was which sometimes from the drawings. The same instructions can be found online at the company's website. This stand looks great in my living room & is very sturdy. Absolutely worth it.
