Corner Widescreen TV Stand Review

(More customer reviews)This is a good product as long as you understand what you're getting. It is typical of many low-end, mass produced modular furniture peices on the market. All wood pieces are "veneer" over partical board. The pieces are assembled with manufactured hardware (metal dowels and metal locking nuts that you insert into predrilled holes on each wood peice). The hardware is specifically designed for the unit so don't lose any! There are about 30 or so wood peices and at least 100 differene peices of hardware. It's best to spread it all out prior to construction.
The instructions are a small printed, so some care is needed in making sure you're working on the right peice during each step. And it it can be hard to tell which side you're supposed to be instering the hardware on some peices. No worries though, the hardware removes easy enough when you make a mistake.
Overall assembly took about an hour with the help of another adult.
The finished product looks very nice, and the shipping process resulted in only a few minor blemishes - which is really good considering we live on an island in Alaska and it came through UPS, which means it got transfered from manufacturer, to truck to jet, to float plane and then to ATV BEFORE it reached our post office... Good packaging, which definately took some abuse in shipping.
The unit is smaller than I expected but has a surprising amount of space. The corner design also fits tightly into the corner, which makes it look even smaller. Which could be a really good thing for a small house or apartment. And still it provides great storage for components. It fits our 42" Panasonic Flat screen with a few inches to spare. Has room for a PS3, a home theater receiver, DVD and VCR and the kids Wii. However, media storage is limited so you might find yourself looking for a media shelf or cabinet in which to store all your movies/games.
In summary, this is well worth the $229 we paid. (which included free super saver shipping! My best Amazon deal EVER!)

Metro 74" TV Stand in Black Woodgrain Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this stand for my 65" plasma which is heavy. I wanted a stand longer than my tv and be able to support 130ish pounds. there isn't a lot out there unless you want to spend a lot of money. This is rated for 134lbs on top and comes to just under 74". It is heavy duty wood similar to mdf at 1 inch thick. It has the best i can explain is a wood grain type paint or coating that looks nice but have to be careful when assembling because coating is hard and brittle when pressure is applied to screws. The instructions are just pictures and I am familiar with assembly and had to stop a few times and really concentrate on the pictures to make sure i was doing it right other than that it went fine. assembly took about 2 hrs but i was working at a slower pace. The shelves are all rated for 22lbs including the center glass ones. One thing i like is when assembled there is a front bottom board that gets put on that flushes out the gap underneath in front for looks but also for support. I think if the stand ever starts sagging from the weight of tv etc you would not notice it except in back of stand which you wouldn't see. I see so many stands that start warping from weight but this one shouldn't show it at least. We'll see how well it supports the weight in the future since I'll be pushing max weight. With this stand at over 17inches high top of my tv will come to under 60 inches. For my liking this works well but when you have a big tv you don't want it to far off the ground. It was hard to see from pictures but the sides are door enclosed shelving that open from the center out to the side. It will not fit 2 dvd's on top of each other even with the shelves removed so had to stack horizontal for most space but it will hold a lot of dvd's etc just not in a easy access manner but it hides them away and brings out a finished look with them being concealed. also The shelves are only adjustable maybe 2 inches up and down from center but from what i needed it to do it has accepted all my electronics. My a/v receiver comes close to not fitting when shelf is set to center so you might want to give it more space for cooling. otherwise so far I am really happy with stand. I also opted not to put on the handles for the doors since i think it looks better and you can't really tell they are doors and can still open them easy with out them.

I am very pleased with it. The quality is beyond what I expected for an inexpensive put-together piece and looks great in our game room. The color is a dark black-brown, it was easy to put together, and it does not look or feel the least bit cheap. Great purchase.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this cabinet for the room my grandchildren use when they are visiting. We had a small TV to put on it and the bins underneath to be used as toy storage. It was not difficult to assemble, although it did take about an hour. The quality is as expected for a particle board cabinet, but appears to be well designed and very sturdy. I am pleased with the cabinet.

(More customer reviews)I found no previous reviews on this tv stand but i took a chance and ordered it anyway b/c i really like the design and couldn't find anything similar elsewhere. overall i am pleased with it but it is darker colored than pictured, very dark brown, almost black, but i suppose different units may vary. Took 3 or 4 hours to build (including clean up). Instructions were vague, but if you're careful there should be no issues. It is NOT made out of solid wood but rather the entire thing is a compressed wood similar to masonite, with a thin veneer of course. maybe the 4 legs are solid wood, but everthing else is is composite. It seems pretty solid and strong but will likely chip/scratch easily over time. The veneer looks nice and fit and finish is good enough (not great) and it holds my 46 inch sony nicely.
Also, be prepared to have a large and heavy box show up at your door. When i opened the box there was shredded styrofoam everywhere from the metal rails (from the drawer) that had bounced around in the box during shipping. This also nicked and scratched the finish of several pieces including the front of the drawer and top of stand. the corner of the top was also smashed a little, presumably from shipping. huge mess to clean up the styrofoam. but i contacted the seller (thru amazon) and they quickly shipped out replacement pieces. The replacement top arrived damaged worse than the original, so i didn't even use it. -just used a stain marker to disguise the damage which looks fine. Hope this helps.

(More customer reviews)The packaging is amazing. Have no fears about having this item shipped to you. The outer box arrived looking like it had been dropped from the airplane during a low-pass, but inside there is plenty of additional cardboard, wrapping, and styrofoam. It endured not a single scratch. Setup is a breeze. You don't even need a screwdriver!!
The max shelf clearance is just over seven inches. That leaves you less than five inches on the other shelf. (There are three settings for the center shelf.) For most, I don't foresee a problem. I have a fairly tall center channel that just wouldn't fit (disappointing, but we had a plan B). For most folks, the taller shelf will handle a large receiver, but I imagine the largest probably won't slide in. The back panel is a bit more restrictive than you might think. There's not a ton of room back there, but it does a nice job of hiding the cords. Nine velcro straps (on the back of the panel, to hold the cords in place) are an especially nice touch that I had initially dismissed. However, they work incredibly well and I'm very pleased they are there.
The cherry finish is beautiful and the black powder-coat blends into the background very nicely. Thick glass panels with perfectly polished edges leave no sharp corners for young children (though they'll leave plenty of fingerprints). It is heavy and incredibly sturdy. Though one person can manage, I recommend you get a friend/spouse to help lift in the glass shelves.

Corner Media TV Stand Grid Windowpane Doors Walnut Finish Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Narita Corner TV Stand (made by Southern Enterprises, Inc., model MS987100TX) through Amazon.com from totally Furniture on Feb 8, 2009. The stand was purchased to hold a Sony 46 Inch, Z Series LCD television, with the intent of using the inner storage space for components (Combination DVD Recorder/Player/VCR, and future Blue Ray Recorder/Player, along with media) The space is ample for those purposes. I am using little woven baskets inside the cabinet to hold the media on the shelves, which is working out well. The material of the cabinet is man-made "engineered" wood product, of extremely high quality. It looks virtually like fine wood, and is solid (not veneered) construction. It has anchors pre-installed from the factory that receive the Allen screws. The fit and finish of all pieces is excellent. The cabinet requires about 2 hours to assemble, taking your time, to get everything perfect. When completed, you cannot tell it was assembled, and looks like it was purchased in any fine furniture store. It is very strong, sturdy, very heavy. This tand would easily handle a 50 inch flat screen TV, or even larger, so far as weight goes, and the overhang would not be noticable, since it is a corner TV stand. (But could be used for a regular wall, and is finshed on the back) The design and construction of this product is remarkable, and will meet most people's expectations. One thing that I had not thought about was how the wood cross-hatch design of the doors would affect signals from the IR Remotes to the components inside, with the doors closed. This has turned out not to be a problem, and the components work fine with the doors closed. (Panasonic DVD Player/Recorder with VCR combo)
Side note. One piec was damaged when I performed assembly. (Cam-lock piece that holds the top in place on one corner) I requested a replacement from SEI thorugh their e-mail address for support on lost, missing or broken parts, but never received a reply. It was not a critical component, and doesn't show (it's only to secure the top, which is also secured by other fasteners), so I dropped the matter.
If you buy this stand, be careful not to use too much force on the Cam-lock part. It is rather soft pot-metal, and will easily bend instead of going properly into place. That was my problem.
